Thomas Adès ~ with Folkestone New Music in 2024
As both composer and conductor, Thomas Adès is one of the most brilliant figures in British music.
Tom is conducting performances of John Woolrich’s ‘The theatre represents a garden: night’ with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra this spring. The performances are at the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh and City Hall, Glasgow on the 11th and 12th of April.
'The theatre represents a garden: night' was commissioned for the Mozart Now Festival in 1991, for the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Frans Brüggen.
Thomas Adès is coming to Folkestone New Music on 24th May to give a piano recital of music. His programme, which will include music by Janáček, Schubert, Stravinsky, Conlon Nancarrow and himself, is at the Folkestone’s Grand Hotel.
